A TRUE STORY

Story

Long before Furia Selección, our family was already selecting fruit.

In Oliva, Juan and Enrique Pérez Mahiques, known as els Bessons, devoted much of their lives to the land and the orange trade.

Before the brand, there was already the land.

Juan and Enrique

In 1957, Juan and Enrique Pérez Mahiques, known as els Bessons, began a period of work with other partners in the orange trade in Oliva. Five years later they started their own business, supported by their wives and family.

They bought fruit, selected it and brought it to market.

SELECTION WAS THE CRAFT

Before picking the fruit,
you already had to know how to choose.

Juan was more closely connected to the land, harvesting and transport.

Enrique travelled around the district, located crops and assessed the oranges “a ull”, while they were still on the tree.

He also sought out those who could sell the fruit and those who could later buy it.

Then came the warehouse, grading, selection and packing.

Long before Furia Selección,
discernment was already part of the work.

That story also had a specific place: a small warehouse on carrer dels Germans Benlliure, in Oliva.

From there, the land, warehouse and market were all part of the same work.

FAMILY MEMORY

The land was family too.

Work was not separate from family life.

The season, the warehouse and tending the orchards were part of everyday life.

The Furia brand was born as a tribute to the dog owned by Juan and his family. Her name was also that of the horse in a television series his children watched.

The bond with the land passed from one generation to the next.

THE PASSAGE OF TIME AND GENERATIONS

The fruit changed.
The standards did not.

As time and generations passed, the story continued.

Oranges had been the school.
Then came the avocado.

The crop changed, but observation, patience, care and selection at source remained.

Our family’s craft is the root of Frutas Furia. Today, Furia Selección carries that legacy forward through selection, care and respect for the origin of every product.

TODAY

We do not change our roots.
We evolve.

The roads, markets, technology, crops and the way we reach our customers have changed.

But we still uphold the same idea: not everything we can sell deserves to bear our name.
